The Questions to Ask if You’ve Got an Idea You’d Like to Pursue

Last week marked a professional highlight for me, as we hosted the first ever State of Women Conference with 70 brilliant women - each of them seeking strategies to dial up their impact and scale back their stress.

The day was a dream - flawlessly executed (thanks to a VILLAGE of talented and dedicated people who cared deeply about the mission of our work.) When we sat around a coffee table in January exploring the idea of taking the concept of a workshop and expanding it into a conference, we had no idea how it would turn out.

The only thing we had was feedback from our workshop attendees that they wanted more. Their enthusiasm for the work we love spurred us on. We had no idea how to pull it off, but we met every week and chipped away at planning.

It’s wlld looking through the feedback forms from the conference yesterday and hearing the same exact message we heard last January. Most of them shouting “we want MORE.” We want retreats, we want 2 day conferences with this, we want more frequent continued options to talk about this and pursue this work. We. Want. More.”

Much the same as last January, this week we will sit down and look at each other and explore what “more” looks like, and I’m sure it’ll be bigger than anything we’ve ever done - just like the State of Women Conference.

I share this with you because this process of “I want this, but I’m not sure how to pull it off” is the same every single time. There is no destination where you know what you’re doing. There is no place you arrive and you know it all. When you’re a person that’s dedicated to growth, when you’re a woman that makes her moves based on the impact she wants to leave - the process always looks like this.

HOPE. UNCERTAINTY. PERSISTENT DEDICATION. WILLINGNESS TO TRY. BELIEF THAT WHEN IMPACT IS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, YOU CAN’T GO WRONG. LEAP. REPEAT.

This is the process of confidence.

Right now, you’re probably sitting on an idea you really want to take off. My questions for you are this:

  1. Do you believe the value of it?
  2. Are you willing to get your hands dirty to pull it off?
  3. Are you ready to make a commitment to prioritize it and honor that?
  4. Do you trust in your ability to figure it out?

If the answers are yes, you have everything you need to make it happen.

Need some support in taking that dream and turning it into a reality? That’s where a coach comes in handy. If you’ve got grand dreams for your business in 2023 but you aren’t sure how to pull them off - let’s talk.

Are you ready to be Magnetic?
