3 things you need to do when you’re just getting started with short form video

(Reels, Tiktoks, and any video under 1 minute)

  1. Catch their Attention - You need to have words on the screen that grab their attention immediately. Start by using helpful, attention grabbing hooks like “(#) things you need to do BEFORE you list your house,” or “(#) ways to make your offer stand out in today’s market.”
  2. Start Simple - It can be overwhelming when you’re just getting started, so pick EASY VIDEOS to make and recreate. Instead of worrying about stressful transitions and outfit changes, just focus on the message. As you learn the software you’re using (instagram or tiktok for example) you’ll get faster at making these videos. Just be willing to start by TALKING first.
  3. Lean on the Trends - Much of the growth people are seeing in their following is coming from leveraging “trends” on social media platforms. To make this easier for you to spot, simply go onto instagram, and watch reels. If you see the same song pop up multiple times, chances are pretty good that it’s trending. Instead of creating things entirely from scratch, go ahead and do what’s popular, and use the sounds that other people are using as a starting point.
